When I was young it seemed that it was a well known fact that mankind will go extinct when the sun burns out or whatever. Unless we traveled to and colonized planets somewhere else in the universe.
There were and are concerns about a meteor collision, catastrophic world wide war, diseases, and so on. But those all seemed far fetched.
Some people have been busy with predicting the extinction of mankind, and most seem to have climate change as the most likely, and basically inevitable end of mankind. Now. Finally.
Of course something else might happen sooner, but if not, that's how it's going to end for mankind.
I am terrified by this. I focused my life on how to solve environmental problems in general, and end things I feel are wrong, and now I have to give up hope basically. I keep trying to find solutions, but it seems our fate is sealed. After I'm dead, I'm old enough I won't see when things start getting really bad. And they are already so bad it's torturous to me.
