This is just a very vague idea. It's based on yet another blocking sun light plan I read about. So far every plan for reducing sunlight hitting the earth to try and reduce global warming has been about cloud level in the atmosphere.
But I thought it would be more effective if was at a higher level, around geostationary satellite altitude.
I thought of some kind of material that is spread apart by drones, and so then it can be collapsed to allow more sunlight when it is finally possible to do so, or becomes necessary. A hole in the middle to allow concentrated solar wind to pass through.
To be clear - it is not that this is any kind of solution for climate change, this is just one thing that might be part of a solution. Maybe.
Then I thought about if using a reflective material, that can then be used to focus the sunlight into a beam and sending a concentrated light stream to a point on earth for conversion to electrical energy.
Of course that would defeat the purpose of directing heat away from the earth, unless it significantly reduces power generation by burning fuel, or some other helpful factor in the equation. Or if it could be used to power devices that cool the planet and/or reduce green house gases.
In addition to the hole in the middle to vent the solar wind blowing against it, perhaps this can be captured with funnels, and redirected with tubing to the edges where the drones are, and give them propulsion for maneuvering in position, close/open operations, and maintaining altitude.
I'm guessing this would not be possible on many points, and I have no idea if any thing makes sense. It was just in my mind, and I wanted to get it out of there.
